  • JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Stevedore’s major job depends upon the job site assigned to. All positions are labor intensive requiring the stevedore to work from a light to heavy level of work. Job sites are located on at various piers or on a ship/barge. They will load and discharge cargo from a ship/barge, secure the loads on a ship/barge, work with passengers and luggage for cruise ships, discharge raw materials such as aggregate/coal, load and discharge autos/vans/trucks/equipment, etc… The employee works on the average five to ten hour shifts, alternating day and night shifts. The employee may be assigned to the Wharf Gang where the rotation is every two weeks or a Ship Gang where the rotation is every three weeks. The employee will generally have a one-hour lunch.

    Position Summary:

    McCabe Hamilton and Renny, Co., Ltd. is looking for an enthusiastic Payroll Specialist to join our team. Our ideal candidate is someone who is ethical, organized, detail oriented, and skillful in the handling of confidential information. Candidate should be adaptable in learning new computer technologies and skills.

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for processing of weekly payroll
    • Update payroll deductions, corrections, withholdings, and other records
    • Verify payroll hours, wages deductions
    • Generate weekly, monthly, annual reports
    • Learn new software or programs as needed

    Qualifications

    • Organized
    • Able to complete tasks by weekly schedule
    • Detail oriented
    • Reliable and responsible
    • Advanced user of Excel (extensive use of Excel Spreadsheets)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • High degree of confidentiality and discretion required
    • Highly degree of confidentiality and discretion
    • Previous work in data entry preferred, but not required.

    Additional Info:

    • This is an in-person, full-time position.
    • Normal Work Hours: 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Flex hours are available.

  • JOB DESCRIPTION

    Position Summary:

    Managing Operations Office. Reports to VP of Operations

    Essential Functions:

    • Effectively communicates with our customers, vendors, managers, and longshore
    • Responsible for keeping area safe and rep01ting any safety hazards to Safety Director
    • Ensure lines calls are recorded and tracked properly
    • Ensure time sheets are turned in and processed properly and promptly
    • Manage vacation and sick leave requests and balances per L-100 and 142 CBA
    • Manage dispatch and supervisors scheduling
    • Oversee outport travel including per diem, flights, car/hotel reservations
    • Manage and maintain longshore master logbook
    • Track promotions, sign ups, transfers, hires,
    • Oversee scheduling of stevedores according to proper work rules and CBA
    • Assist in tracking, filing, responding, researching of grievances
    • Maintain Local 142 personnel and medical file
    • Track union leave for officers

    Working Hours:

    • In-Person, normal working hours are Monday through Friday 7:00am-4:00pm, may include weekends.

    Education and Experience:

    • Associates Degree
    • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience of managing an office and staff
    • Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal written, and listening skills
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook & PowerPoint).
