JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary: McCabe, Hamilton & Renny Co., Ltd., Hawaii’s leading stevedoring company, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Operations Dispatcher – Level 3 to support longshore operations at Honolulu Harbor. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly, and coordinates multiple moving parts accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Check in longshore personnel at jobsites and adjust manning as needed.
- Review, verify, and process daily timesheets with accuracy.
- Track individual, gang, and subcategory hours in compliance with the Longshore CBA.
- Coordinate inter-island travel (flights, ground transportation, lodging) and process cancellations/refunds.
- Assist employees with questions about hours and pay; submit corrections to Payroll.
- Receive and process PTO and vacation requests; submit documentation to HR.
- Communicate operational changes, shortages, and replacements to Supervisors and Operations Management.
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation for compliance and audits.
- Support Operations Management with scheduling, contract compliance, and operational directives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of work experience (operations, logistics, or dispatching preferred).
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work effectively with management, union personnel, and cross-department teams.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a TWIC.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Experience
- Maritime or unionized work environment.
- Dispatching or timekeeping experience.
- Familiarity with payroll or labor tracking systems.
Work Environment
- Office and outdoor harbor settings.
- Exposure to variable weather conditions.
- Boarding vessels via gangways and ramps as required.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary: This position requires the level of knowledge and skills necessary to diagnose and repair on Hyster, Taylors and other major brand cargo handling equipment. This individual must have the ability to effectively work and communicate with co-workers and customers. Requirements include daily safety inspections, minimal reworks, and maintaining production standards. Particular attention will be on timeliness and quality of repairs.
Qualifications for Mechanic:
- Must complete Background Check, Drug Screen and Motor Vehicle Records Check
- Demonstrated experience in hydraulic systems, reading schematic’s, trouble shooting, pumps, valves, cylinders and accumulators.
- Experience in repair and overhaul on engines, transmissions, final and planetary drives.
- Must have experience and knowledge in multiple voltage systems, ability to read Electrical schematics, use of testing equipment, computers and complete any and all necessary repairs including the safety warning systems.
- Have knowledge and experience to work on the Computer controlled engines. Cat, Cummings, Detroit, Perkins and other different types of equipment.
- Excellent communication skills. Bring demonstrated abilities of building solid relationships with superiors, peers, and subordinates.
- 10+ Years’ experience in repair and maintenance on Heavy Duty Cargo Handling Equipment
- Commercial Driver’s License and ASE Certifications highly preferred, but NOT required. Will be a condition of employment once hired on.
- Must work with other always using the companies Safe work practices.
Fleet Information: Forklifts, container handlers and other cargo handling equipment.
Schedule for Mechanics: Monday – Friday; 7:00am – 4:00pm; Must be willing to work overtime hours as needed including weekends and Holidays.
